Photography

I have a wide array of artistic interests that not only ranges from animation, illustration, and design, but also photography! Animation is  great because options are limitless and you are just about free to create whatever you can imagine. Photography  on the other hand is equally great but you have to be more imaginative about what is provided.

Rough Animatic with First Final Test - the New Job

The two videos below shows a weekends worth of Animating and Creating. I started out with a rough storyboard to get the feel of the dialogue. Proceeded with a rough animatic to get a feel for the camera movement and timing of the shots. Once I knew what the shots were, I made vector artwork and finally compiled it together into a final test. I say test because I still see it only as a work in progress.

Bouncing Ball with shadow and highlight excercise

The below video is a bouncing ball excercise that I have undertaken. This is the first time adding a graphite shading to an animation of mine unless you include my flying bird sequence. It is a process that I may continue to progress into a short film at a later date so I did not mind applying this application to a bouncing ball excercise. It helps develop how I will approach some future projects that I have plans for.

This excercise continued working on timing and introduced the animation principles of squash and stretch, overlap, arcs, among various others. I still would like to work on some of the timing on the ball bounces so that you could feel the height of the bounce more.

Pendulum Swing excercise - 4 variations

I created the below Pendulum Swing exercises following the book titled "How to Make Animated Films: Tony White's Complete Masterclass on the Traditional Principals of Animation" by Tony White. The different Pendulum Swings below are created using different timing to help gain an appreciation for the different timing. I appreciate how the slow in slow out examples show some variation and weight to the swing action.

Captain Crunch Retro T-Shirt

Lol, My Cap'N Crunch shirt finally came in the mail after diligently eating cereal and collecting the proofs of purchases to be eligible for ordering. My love for iconic cartoons will be displayed everywhere I go now. This iconic cartoon character's creation is credit to Jay Ward who created the Cap'n Crunch Character and produced the first Cap'n Crunch commercials at his Jay Ward Studios. Jay Ward is an American creator and producer of animated television cartoons including Rocky & Bullwinkle, Peabody and Sherman, George of the Jungle, and several others. Since then Cap'n Crunch commercials have historically used basic cartoon animation by Hanna-Barbera.
